Drill baby Drill – oh yeah!

So this morning my inbox was full of messages from Eco organizations — you name the Green/Ecology/Save the Planet/ Save the Polar Bears/ Gia-Mother Nature organization it was there. Screaming 0bama — stop him — he is insane. None of the “progressive” charities have made that claim–  yet. All the emails are a variation on this theme:

Join our fight to stop Obama’s drilling plan.

It seems like such a short time ago these same save the Earth Charities flooded my inbox with gloating — hey the savior of the world was elected and “we” did it. Hey you guys — yep you certainly “did it” and got your guy in the white house. Well congratulations — why not get your working funds from your very own Prez. I think if you all just addressed your appeals to Prez “owned by every major Corporate interest in the world” 0bama he might send you all a few bucks.

Now for the “I told you so”.

McCain did have a history of leaning toward wise use of the earth resources — as much as any politician can who has reached the Senate. Even the evil and despised Gov. Palin has a record of Environmental awareness, perhaps not the snuggly record that the extreme on either side would want.

Remember 0bama’s record with getting the Nuclear Power interests to clean up their mess? He didn’t want to upset his corporate masters so he re-wrote and rewrote the bill so that they weren’t inconvenienced at all and the tax payers well ended up on the loosing end again. THAT is his record.

So what other Corporate interest does 0bama still owe favors to?   Blackwater  – check — that would be the mercenaries who are busy in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere. (I think some even showed up in Haiti — Corporate interest to protect from you know the homeless and starving.) Wall Street and the Financial big guys — like Goldman sucks — check.   Medical Insurance companies — they even got to write the legislations and they did it in such a way that they dirty tricks wouldn’t really become obvious for a few years.  And now the oil corporations — Drill baby Drill.

In June 2008, Obama slammed his Republican rival John McCain (Ariz.) for his support of opening the nation’s coastline for oil exploration and drilling, calling it “political posturing” and an ineffective way to gain energy independence.

He also accused McCain of flip-flopping on his support of a moratorium on offshore drilling in 2000, a position Obama said was “certainly laudable.”

“But his decision to completely change his position and tell a group of Houston oil executives exactly what they wanted to hear today was the same Washington politics that has prevented us from achieving energy independence for decades,” Obama said in a statement on June 17, 2008.

“Much like (McCain’s) gas tax gimmick that would leave consumers with pennies in savings, opening our coastlines to offshore drilling would take at least a decade to produce any oil at all, and the effect on gasoline prices would be negligible at best since America only has three percent of the world’s oil.

“It’s another example of short-term political posturing from Washington, not the long-term leadership we need to solve our dependence on oil,” Obama said.

If anyone wants to know what the Nixon years were like — just watch the 0bama years unfold. Obamacare is really just the Nixon plan repackaged. Somehow it seems like the Democrats really have never been in favor of Universal Health Care — or single payer. That would be too much like . . . gasp socialism.  It is so easy to scream the “trigger words” and watch the masses react.

Drill baby Drill — like now — anywhere that the oil companies want.

I’m an Independent and I don’t trust EITHER political party, nor any of the other third parties. Independent means INDEPENDENT.
