Four Corners

This is a corner window which showcases the building skills of the Chacoan Shaman Engineers for want of better way of explaining what these 'primitive' prehistoric people accomplished.

This is a corner window of a 4 story 600 room Pueblo in Chaco Canyon. The many ruins in this canyon and throughout the region demonstrate the building skills of the Chacoan Shaman Engineers, for want of better way of explaining what these ‘primitive’ prehistoric people accomplished.

The Southwest is a huge area of the United States. My particular interest is the 4 corners region or New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado. This region is full of ancient Indian ruins, and rock art — the evidence of human habitation goes back thousands of years and the “hard copy” evidence is out there for all of us to see. Mostly this part of the history of this land mass is rarely, if ever taught in American schools.

Now that we are retired we can spend every winter visiting and revisiting Chaco era ruins — that would be Anasazi ruins to most people who are interested in four corners Indian history. Chaco Canyon, NM, National Historic/HeritagePpark is one of my favorite places. The ruins there are really monuments.

More on this topic as I gather links and work on a Bibliography.
